PROBLEM

What’s Barullo Studio?

Barullo Studio is a creative agency and consultancy born with the intention of making noise, expressing its clients’ identities in a creative, approachable, and disruptive way through branding, marketing, and consulting services.

Projecting Barullo’s identity

At Barullo Studio, the team wanted to carry out a rebranding that expressed their values and philosophy, both aesthetically and in the way they work. As a result, they were temporarily without a website. However, they already had a clear brand identity, which served as the foundation for creating a homepage, landing pages, and a newsletter that reflect the essence of the Barullo team and help drive the brand forward into its new stage.

RESEARCH

Benchmarking

In this case, we selected six similar brands and direct competitors of Barullo Studio to analyze them and identify what could be implemented in our design. We also defined ten categories to evaluate each brand consistently.

1. Industry 2. Content structure 3. Tone of voice 4. Visual style 5. Navigation 6. Offered resources 7. Features / Functionalities 8. User experience 9. Call to action (CTA) 10. Key differentiator

Finally, we created a table divided into three sections; effective, not effective, and adaptable. This approach allowed us to identify what worked well for each brand and selectively adapt the most valuable elements into Barullo Studio’s new design.

DESIGN

Sitemap

Initially, we organized the information architecture by defining several essential sections for Barullo’s new website, such as completed projects, client testimonials, a blog, and FAQs.

After testing and discussing the structure with the entire team, we decided to adjust some sections and refine the hierarchical organization to better attract and meet the needs of potential clients.

Wireframes

We designed the Home and Landing pages by aligning them with Barullo’s requirements regarding the character and values they wanted to convey to users.
Client acquisition was the top priority, so we began by showcasing what Barullo can offer, followed by highlighting the company’s value and reputation within the industry.

The initial designs helped us visualize more clearly what Barullo’s website should look like and evaluate whether it would be appealing both visually and structurally.

Prototype

A clear design and structure were defined for the Home and Landing pages, aligned with Barullo’s bold and outspoken character, as well as a close, disruptive, and creative style.
Every decision was carefully considered and discussed collaboratively with the entire team.

Visual coordination and experience consistency

Brand consistency and coherence were considered at every stage across the website and landing pages. The same clear and bold character was also maintained in the newsletter. Ensuring consistent communication, both in terms of user experience and visual language, was essential for users to truly feel what defines Barullo.

CONCLUSION

Reflection

At the final stage of the project, the student team working on it had to step away after completing our internships. Although the company was open to continuing, it was not possible for us to move forward. For this reason, the project does not have a final completion on my end, and a fully finished version cannot be shown. Despite this, the learning experience was extremely valuable. Collaboration, coordination, and communication among the designers were strong throughout the project, allowing us to move forward effectively as a team.

Next steps

What would be the next steps for the Barullo project? - Complete the final design of the remaining website sections, the newsletter, and additional landing pages. - Continuously iterate on the project through testing to further refine and improve the experience. - Propose conversion and activation improvements to help Barullo grow and strengthen user engagement.
